FAQs

Is it Painful?

f you are like most people, you will feel nothing more than a slight warmth or tingling sensation. Many individuals report feeling little or no pain during the SoftLight procedure, while a few liken it to a hot prickle or a rubber band snap.

Is it Safe?

Yes. SoftLight Hair Removal has been performed on thousands of people with positive results. The same YAG laser has been used by physicians for over 10 years without any long term adverse effects. SoftLight is so gentle that no anesthesia is required. While a few individuals have experienced mild reddening of the skin or slight swelling which subsided shortly after treatment, most people resume their daily activities immediately after treatment.

Is it Permanent?

SoftLight offers a whole new hair removal regimen which, with ongoing treatment, frees you from the ordeal of daily and weekly shaving, tweezing or waxing. Hair is natural and beneficial to your body, and our goal is not to kill the follicle, but to reduce the frequency of hair growth.

How many treatments will be required to achieve the desired results?

Ongoing treatments administered on a routine basis are generally recommended to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment and achieve lasting results. The frequency of these treatments will vary depending on the size of the area, hair type and hormone levels as well as a number of other factors.

How long does the treatment take?

SoftLight Hair Removal is as fast as it is safe. The entire upper lip can be scanned by the SoftLight laser in less than ten minutes. Even larger areas, such as the legs and back, can be scanned in a single session. By contrast, electrolysis is only able to cover small areas at a time, due to the pain and tedium of the procedure. SoftLight Hair Removal offers a much more convenient alternative.

Is SoftLight FDA cleared?

Yes. In fact, SoftLight was the first laser hair removal process to receive market clearance by the FDA. ThermoLase received clearance in April 1995.

Is Softlight hair removal like electrolysis?

No. Individuals who have experienced SoftLight Hair Removal say it results in virtually none of the pain or tedium of electrolysis. Because a needle must be inserted into each hair follicle one at a time, electrolysis is painfully slow. With SoftLight, the laser gently scans the area, and within minutes all the hairs in that area are treated.
